The place
OSLEN FEST is a festival held in a picturesque small village in Bulgaria. (village Oslen Krivodol, Mezdra) The festival area consists of an outdoor and closed areas. It has a vast, cozy meadow with a stage, camping area, kitchen and shower area, children's corner, a fireplace, tipi zone, spaces for workshops, and parking. The building of the cultural center has an antique stage with wonderful seating for the audience, sound system, and balconies.
Close to the festival open air grounds, there are three natural springs that provide pure water, as well as a river and a forest. In the village visitors can also explore a lake and take a boat trip, or take a route to the ancient megalithic complex, which features a cave, sanctuary, remains of a fortress, and an old church. The festival has transformed an abandoned field into a vibrant cultural and artistic zone, offering a solution to the social and demographic crisis of depopulation in this area (which is considered the least developed zone in the European Union.) through community involvement and creative solutions.
